Course Description

Who is this course for? People seeking an accounting qualification or wishing to work in accounting. If you're new to finance or you're looking to brush up on your foundation knowledg and skills What qualifications or experience do I need ? GCSE English and Maths, grade D or above, or recognised equivalent qualifications. Mature students may be accepted on successful completion of an assessment. What will I study ? This course will cover the following topics Financial documentation and transactions. Ledgers,trial balance, journals Cash book, petty cash records, control accounts Banking procedures Computerised accounting Basic principles of costing. A range of basic accounting practices and techniques, from costing and double-entry bookkeeping to computerized accounting. How will I be assessed ? Assessment will take the form of: * Computer based exam, normally of two hour duration What qualifications could I achieve ? On successful completion of this course you will gain AAT Certificate in Accounting What can the course lead to ? * AAT NVQ 3 Intermediate Accounting * Employment in an accounts office How do I join the course ?
