Course Details

BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance

Course Description

This course will equip you for a successful career in accounting, finance and business. It will give you a good understanding of both accounting and finance and their importance within organisations. In Year 2 and 3 you can choose modules to tailor the course to suit your future career direction. You can specialise in accountancy or gain a wider business perspective. The knowledge, skills and qualities developed will also enable you to undertake further professional studies in a variety of organisations in order to gain a professional accounting qualification. The professional bodies that are in some way associated with the route are: • Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. The course therefore recognises the requirements of these bodies in the structure of its curriculum and assessment methods and, these requirements, together with the bench-mark statements, are critical factors in developing the course. The BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree offered compares favourably with other institutions by having 20 professional body exemptions from the three main accounting professional bodies.
