Course Description

At Salisbury University, computer science students have access to state-of-the-art technology. Our department is housed primarily on the first floor of the Henson Science Hall, which opened in 2002. In this facility, we have three computer laboratories available for instruction and research. We have a 32-station teaching lab that runs in a Windows environment and is connected to the campus network. This lab, although used primarily for classes by our department, is a campus lab and is available for general use when not reserved for a particular class. We also have a 20-station teaching lab running in the Linux operating environment, used for instruction and research, and an eight-station Linux/XP dual mode research lab. These two labs are under departmental control and are open only to mathematics and computer science students. Students can request access using their student ID Gull Cards as keys to these two labs and to our student seminar room. In addition, students with their own laptop computers can access our wireless “Hot Zones” throughout the building.
