About Us

Saint Mary's traces its earliest beginnings to 1802 when the Reverend Edmund Burke, later Bishop Burke, taught young men at the Glebe House, on the corner of Spring Garden Road and Barrington Street. The boys’ school grew first into a college and then into a university, never wavering in its commitment to education and community service. The vision, mission and core values of Saint Mary’s University lay the foundation for the direction and culture of our university.Saint Mary’s, building on its strong tradition of accessibility and community engagement, will be the University of choice for aspiring citizens of the world. The mission of Saint Mary’s University: * Offer undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs. * Engage in research and disseminate its results. * Serve the community from the local to the international level. When you spend most of your week on campus, it’s important to feel safe and comfortable. That’s why we’ve made sure to hire only the best people for our Facilities Management team. From planning to maintenance, these highly efficient staff members take care of our university—whether they’re keeping our buildings in great shape or providing security and mail service.Saint Mary's University Policies, Procedures and Guidelines are divided into several broad subject categories. Within each category there are titles which narrow the subject information. From these titles the policy document can be selected. Each policy, procedure or guideline contains information at the start which includes the department responsible for developing and maintaining the document ("owner" of the policy). Any questions concerning a policy should be directed to the responsible department.
