Course Description

The DPsych programme aims to develop counselling psychologists who meet British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) standards of competency. Our training is rooted in existential phenomenological philosophy and its application to clinical practice. This highlights the nature of counselling psychology as a field that emphasises subjective/lived experience, dialogue, and a holistic/relational view of human nature and psychological difficulties. This programme is validated by the Open University, UK. More information about the Open University validation. The first round of interviews for entry in September 2014 will be held in the first week of April 2014.
