Course Description

Advanced Diploma in Video Games Design Intakes: January, April, July and October Duration: 2 Years (Full-time) COURSE OVERVIEW The course gives students the creative and technical knowledge and skills they need to become professionals in the games industry. The emphasis is placed on mobile gaming. Through a combination of theoretical and activity-based learning, students acquire the skills for game strategising, game level design, and game scripting and production. They also learn the techniques and tools used in game development and 2D and 3D computer animation. ASSESSMENT METHODS All modules will be assessed through a combination of assessments, tests, class participation and written examinations. To be awarded the Advanced Diploma, students will need to achieve a passing mark of 50% for all modules. For Degree and Master programmes, students will need to achieve the passing grade stipulated by the University for all modules. TEACHING AND LEARNING It is essential that a student is subjected to a broad range of views and experiences in order that the learning process may elicit, sometimes over a prolonged period, appropriate routes for a person to take, particularly in the latter stages of the Programme.
