"As part of this course we get to do a placement year, as such I was selected as one of six UK undergraduates to go over to Sri Lanka and compete in Ideators (the Sri Lankan version of The Apprentice). The aspect I most enjoyed about studying on a placement year was the fact that we got to take ourselves out of the University, where you don't have to attend lectures, you don't have to do exams, you get to go and actually gain a whole year's experience in a company, in any specialism. As a result I can now confidently say that I have the skills to pay the bills. Going to university is a big step up, but then taking on a placement year and the opportunity we had last summer has completely changed my outlook on life."
