Course Description

The general aim of this course is to develop an understanding of the inter-relationships between the various business disciplines and examine how constraints in one area affect decision making in other areas. The dynamic nature of the business environment will be covered within this general framework. You will be introduced to a variety of skills during your induction programme and these will be developed throughout your three years on the course. These could include time management, presentation skills, report writing, using open learning style methods and information skills, such as how to use the internet effectively. The course consists of lectures, videos, student centred learning materials and a range of group activities. As the course develops, these skills are incorporated into the teaching and assessment strategies of the programme. This course also contains a sustainability dimension; in your final year there is the opportunity to learn about key sustainability issues in operations as well as current sustainability issues in business management.
