The Games & Animation emphasis area encourages students to explore the production of computer animation and digital games while also providing an understanding of the management and leadership roles in these industries.

Career outcomes

Most Media Arts majors aspire to work in an area of television, film, games, music recording, or radio. The school encourages students to follow their passion while remaining open-minded to emerging and converging media industries. Because these industries are broad and always evolving, the number of possible career opportunities is virtually boundless. Graduates work at local TV stations and major networks, small independent production companies and major motion picture studios, independent record studios and major recording labels. Below is a sampling of career areas from the school's five sequences: Music Production and Recording Industry: music producer, sound design for picture, sound effects Games and Animation: games production and design, computer animation, digital effects Media and Social Change: media analyst, production coordinator, not-for-profit Screenwriting and Producing: writer, producer, director, editor, cinematographer/videographer Integrated Media: nonfiction and fiction production in a variety of media
