With a degree in biology, you will be prepared for graduate study in the life sciences; laboratory work and research in biotechnical and biomedical industries; and professional careers in medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine, and other allied health areas. You also have the opportunity to prepare for a career in teaching biology at the secondary level with the Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP), leading to a recommendation for certification to the Michigan Department of Education, as well as several teaching minors available.
