Course Description

What courses are available? AS SINGLE AWARD is made up of 2 AS units. In the upper 6th you may then complete another 2 units to gain a single A Level. AS DOUBLE AWARD is made up of 4 AS units. In the Upper Sixth you may complete another 4 units to gain two A Levels. You will learn about the health, social care, children and young people and community justice sectors. AS topics include: Effective Care and Communication; Understanding Health Conditions and Patient Care Pathways; Life as a Challenge and Educating Children and Young People. A2 topics include: Practitioner Roles; Diagnosis, Treatment and Preventative Strategies; Understanding Mental Disorders and Food and Fitness. You will learn through a variety of different teaching and learning methods. There will be group work and role-play activities as well as individual assignments. Case studies will be used to place the learning in a meaningful context.
