The 2-year Business Administration - Accounting diploma program at NAIT provides students with practical, specialized training that enables them to operate in business with competence in both manual and computerized systems. Training is balanced with managerial courses designed to provide students with sufficient knowledge and training to work in supervisory positions. All Business Administration students take a common first year that provides a grounding in basic business skills and an overview of career possibilities related to the JR Shaw School of Business (JRSSB) programs.

Most graduates find employment in training-related areas, and are able to apply their training and skills as accounting technicians, cost analysts, payroll accountants and, later, as supervisors in related areas. They enjoy employment opportunities at many different levels in financial accounting, internal auditing, financial analysis, and cost accounting. Typical employers include government, industry, accounting firms, banks, hospitals and consulting firms.
