The qualification is based on the Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF). The KSF core dimensions, which the 9 mandatory units are based on are communication, personal and development, health, safety and security, safe guarding ,role of the social care worker and equality and diversity.

Successful completion of the qualification provides an opportunity for progression into employment within the care sector. This could include working with vulnerable adults as well as children and young people
