Business Administration M.B.A.

Course Description

The School of Management's new and transformational M.B.A. program reflects best practice approaches to quality management education worldwide. Built in a style that reflects the trending MiM (Master's in Management) programs that are emerging in the USA, and are currently prevalent in Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada, and other nations, the School of Management M.B.A. program provides a cutting edge learning experience that rivals those offered at the world's leading and innovative business schools. Primarily targeting pre-experience aspiring young professionals, and students from diverse international and academic backgrounds, the program aim is to prepare its graduates for future leadership roles. Unique program features include: Scope of Coverage: The M.B.A. program core's unique modular structure, including twelve 1.5-credit hour courses, in addition to one 3-credit hour capstone (supplemented by electives or concentration courses) increases the scope of coverage relative to more traditional programs and the student's ability to see the whole picture; Incremental Knowledge: The curriculum is designed to advance the student's depth of knowledge by including no material that overlaps that of the undergraduate business experience, This approach is facilitated by the seamless transition of the pre-experience student from the undergraduate into the graduate program and results in graduates whose knowledge and exposure surpasses that of students in more traditional style MBA programs; for students without a business background the school also offers a portfolio of business foundation courses completed prior to enrolling into the M.B.A. program core; Taxonomy: The incremental structure of the curriculum also includes a focus on higher order taxonomies in the cognitive domain associated with analysis, synthesis and evaluation. Coupled with the program's emphasis on advanced level conceptual foundations and analytical skill development, this ensures that graduates are well prepared to enter the workforce and advance rapidly towards higher-order decision-making positions; Leadership: The M.B.A. program includes a tightly articulated program goal towards ensuring that graduates can "Lead effectively, especially in an uncertain business environment," and facilitates this goal attainment through a combination of case studies, co-curricular seminars and workshops on personal development and leadership, and numerous team exercises; Diversity: attracting students from over 100 nations and delivering its programs worldwide in English, the program ensures the significant consideration of global perspectives in the academic curriculum. Moreover, the curriculum is contextualized so that localized business priorities form the context of the course content where the course is delivered; The Truly Global M.B.A.: Four countries - one M.B.A.. Students may take advantage of the opportunity for full global immersion by choosing the global option for the M.B.A. that includes one full semester of study at each of four global campus locations (USA, China, Middle East, Canada) towards completing degree requirements; and Program Completion: Flexible programming options permit the student to complete the program in as little as one year, depending on prior preparation and location.
