Environmental Science In this discipline area you will study how the Earth works, how it has changed and how this information can be used to aid civilisation and economic development. In many parts of the world, geological hazards such as landslides, earthquakes and tsunamis present major risks to life, infrastructure and livelihoods. Dedicated, dynamic staff will show you how to 'read' the landscape, understand how it was formed and how life evolved on this planet. Pharmacology Pharmacology at the University of Portsmouth is ranked 15th in the UK (The Times Good University Guide 2014). The University of Portsmouth has a reputation as one of the best Schools of Pharmacy in the country. The University of Portsmouth's laboratory facilities have recently been boosted by an investment of £1 million to include an aseptic manufacturing area and equipment for a full range of pharmaceutical, chemical and biomedical techniques. Psychology Psychology at the University of Portsmouth is ranked 27th in the UK (The Times Good University Guide 2014). The Department's research centres and expert research groups, led by internationally renowned academics, underpin the teaching on these courses. Those BSc (Hons) Psychology and Forensic Psychology students, who graduate with a 2:2 or above, are eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Graduate Basis for Registration, which is the first step towards becoming a Chartered Psychologist.
