Course Description

In this course, you'll develop the skills, creative thinking and strategic planning that you'll need to successfully chart a business' course through financial waters. Most importantly, this course is accredited by the major UK accounting institutes including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS). Useful for rapid progression into the industry, these accreditations indicate the strength and industry-relevance of this course. The Accounting and Finance group also received the highest possible recognition from the UK's Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) for the quality of its teaching. Through this course, you'll learn and develop a combination of accounting, finance and other business skills. These include specific accounting techniques and policies relating to corporate finance, tax, auditing, corporate governance and statistics. You'll learn to use relevant IT systems, and acquire relevant knowledge of law, economics and the business environment. In addition, transferable skills of time management, project management, communication, collection and management of data, and IT skills will all serve you well in the future, whatever your eventual field of work.
