Mount Royal University’s new Bachelor of Education — Elementary will give you an extensive understanding of both the theory and practice of teaching, preparing you for a successful career in kindergarten through Grade 6. This program also prepares you for certification with the Teacher Development and Certification Branch of Alberta Education. Mount Royal’s B.Ed. — Elementary is unique in Alberta for providing students with direct entry into the four-year degree program. This means you don’t need a degree or prior post-secondary coursework to be considered for the program. And, starting in your first year of study, you will gain extensive hands-on experience in elementary school classrooms — experience that continues during each year of the program. As part of your degree, you can choose from a range of different minors, each designed to enhance your skills in teaching specific subjects.
