This degree produces versatile communications professionals with a solid grounding in the practices of both the advertising and public relations industries, underpinned by media theory. Research, planning and communications skills are central to the operations of media and the cultural industries and this course is designed to help you develop a wealth of transferable skills, Course highlights: Our tutors include leading academic researchers, as well as journalists, editors, and PR and advertising experts, who will support your development and help you to build industry-specific, transferable skills Our campus puts you within easy reach of London's advertising and PR industries and our students have secured placements with a range of companies including agencies such as Frank PR, BMB and Saatchi and Saatchi, and broadcast networks such as the BBC, ITV and MTV, as well as 'client-side' PR and marketing departments from the fashion industry to the charity sector The BA Advertising, PR and Media course has a dedicated speaker programme - guest speakers have included representatives from BMB, AMV BBDO, Transport for London, Iris Digital, Grey, Wieden and Kennedy, Edelman PR, Chime, Plane Stupid, The Sync Agency, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, Save the Children, Macmillan, Sky and Rapha As part of the School of Media and Performing Arts, you will benefit from a range of media-related events, including the 'North London Literary Festival', which is promoted by BA Advertising ,PR and Media students The Introduction to Media and Society module is unique in the UK in that from day one students work on live briefs with household names in the charity sector. Student work ranges from video campaigns for 'Oxfam' and 'Friends of the Earth' to successful lobbying for votes in Parliament with Intern Aware. While studying with us, our students have gained high profile placements at companies including Saatchi and Saatchi, MTV and the BBC.
