Ba(Creative Writing)

Course Description

Creative Writing majors pursue the Bachelor of Arts on a specialized track emphasizing poetry, fiction, playwriting, or generalist writing. Reading and studying the works of strong professional writers, students learn, apply, and question the forms, conventions, and techniques of poetry and prose to discover their own voices as writers and develop their craft. Students practice writing in a variety of forms while studying the relationships among writer, subject and reader. Students collaborate in workshop settings with writing exercises, assignments, readings, group critiques and individual conferences and work in conjunction with the department to produce finished manuscripts in their writing emphasis.
