Course Description

In advertising or public relations, the goal is to be understood in a certain way. It's not about just being clear. It's about delivering a specific message, being persuasive, and presenting your company or your client in the best possible light. At Marietta, you'll learn about the nature of persuasion and acquire the practical skills you need to convince your audience -- everything from desktop publishing to organizational problem solving. But you'll also take courses in media ethics where you'll develop an understanding of the ethical responsibilities that come with the power to move people. Special Features With two radio stations, a television station, and an award-winning newspaper on campus and all run by students, Marietta is your opportunity to work in a variety of mass-media markets. Nearly all of the programming is live and entirely student-driven. WCMO-TV (Channel 15): an on-campus TV station that broadcasts student-produced nightly news and programs to 12,000 households.
