Course Description

On this stimulating course, you will study English literature from the medieval period through to the twenty-first century. Much of our work is interdisciplinary, and your studies in English will encourage you to consider connections between texts and their contexts. You will learn strategies for reading and interpreting, not only books, but other forms of text and the world around you. The Combined Honours programme offers you an opportunity to study two subjects at degree level. You can combine English with: Business Creative Writing Dance Drama Education Studies Film and Television Studies Outdoor Studies Philosophy Popular Music Psychology. Placement options In your final year, you have option to choose between the Dissertation or the Applied Professional Practice Unit. The applied Professional Practice Unit offers greater engagement with relevant professional practice for students who wish to develop their employability skills in a supported and academic.
