This programme will prepare you for a career in Art & Design Teaching. Emphasis is placed on the concept of teaching as a creative activity, demanding capacities for problem solving, inventiveness, imagination and sensitivity. The programme includes three blocks of teaching experience. Successful graduates, subject to the regulations of the Department of Education & Science, will qualify for permanent wholetime appointments as teachers of art in second-level schools. The minimum entry requirement for this programme is an Honours Degree in Art & Design (Level 8) or an equivalent qualification.
