The course is based on an attendance pattern of 15 hours per week. The course content will be based around developing generic and specialist skills in the BSE disciplines. Functional skills in English, maths and ICT are also taught, as is Health and safety and Personal social development in a construction context. The programme is unitised and completion requires a portfolio and online end unit examination.

Level 2 and 3 2365 Electrical Diplomas and level 2 and 3 6035 Plumbing Diplomas or an apprenticeship programme in one of a number of building engineering services pathways. One of a number of BES pathways or progression on to a full-time BES programme.
