Course Description

Crime is an inherently social phenomenon and a huge political and cultural topic. By studying criminology, you'll take a deeper look at the current issues, challenging commonly held assumptions about the place of crime in society. Crime and our responses to it are the cause of much human misery; this is your chance to cast light on these problems so that the world of both victims and offenders may be changed for the better. You will also have the opportunity to undertake work-related experience with criminal justice organisations, including the police, prisoner resettlement projects, youth justice and the probation service.
