About Us

It was established in 1947 and enrols over 5,000 students every year of whom many are from countries outwith the European Union, the college currently operates in two main campuses and in over 80 community based venues spanning much of the Southside of Glasgow. Phase 1 of a newly built main campus was opened in May 2009 while phase 2, incorporating new sport, music and drama facilities, was opened in August 2010. The final phase - an outdoor sports facility - was completed in February 2011. The present Principal is Andrew Haddon. The Langside Campus sits very close to the rail network and several major bus routes. The city centre is only 7 minutes away by train of which there are 4 every hour from Mount Florida railway station. ` Langside College is a further and higher education college located in the Mount Florida / Battlefield region of Glasgow. Langside College is merging with two other first-class colleges in Glasgow to become a new college from 1 August 2013. The proposed name of the new super-college is Glasgow Clyde College. The new college will offer overseas students an exciting range of world-class education opportunities. To help make this happen, Langside College will not be sponsoring visas for the 2013-14 academic year.
