Course Description

This degree gives you the knowledge and practical experience you need to adapt to a changing job market. Graduates work in diverse industries including media, management, social policy, education, and community development. As well as lectures and tutorials, your classes will include a combination of seminars, online videos and podcasts providing a balance of group study and independent learning. We limit our seminar classes to 25 people to give you personalised academic guidance. You can major in the discipline that interests you most from electives across the humanities and social sciences, including archaeology, languages, screen arts, politics, sociology and history. You can also choose a second major or a minor from other disciplines, such as accounting, computer science, economics and psychology. We encourage you to participate in student exchange and study abroad programs, many of which are financially supported. Overseas project work is also possible through subjects like our Service Learning in the Community (SLC) elective. SLC group projects address a community need with partners like CERES Environmental Park, Banyule Community Health and Moral Fairground. You can also gain practical career skills through our Work Ready elective, where you look at the factors influencing job trends, meet industry professionals and have opportunities for volunteer or paid positions.
