Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching (MA)

Course Description

If you want to become a language teacher, then this course will provide you with the theory and practical skills you need. The Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching MA is a programme which explores the practical applications of applied linguistics and is aimed at postgraduate students with or without language teaching experience. It is suitable for both native speakers and non-native speakers of English who want to develop their careers in language teaching, consultancy or research. Students who want to become English language teachers will have an optional opportunity to gain a professional teaching qualification (CELTA or CLTA) as part of the programme.

Career outcomes

Students graduating from the Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching MA will have the qualifications, skills and knowledge to enable them to apply for positions as language teachers, language consultants, both in the UK and in their home countries. The masters is however not a teaching qualification for entry into the UK state school education system.
