Course Description

The Business Administration program was developed to prepare students for careers in accounting, business, management, and office administration. The accounting option is designed to teach, through a sequence of experiences, the skills necessary for a student to develop cognitive knowledge of the accounting process and to be able to apply this knowledge in a practical manner. The general business option is designed to prepare students for a variety of careers within business. The management option prepares students to hold management positions. The office systems technology option prepares students for employment or advancement in office support positions by providing learning experiences in word processing, spreadsheet management, database management, written and oral communications, administrative office procedures and internet usage along with critical thinking and problem solving experiences. The program awards the Certificate and Associate in Applied Science degrees in Business Administration with options in General Business, Accounting, Office Administration, and Management.

Career outcomes

Graduates of the Business Administration Program may become employed as a Manager, General Office Clerk, Administrative Assistant, Office Manager, Legal Office Manager, Executive Office Manager. Financial Record Keeper, Accounts Payable Clerk, Inventory Control Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk, Bookkeeping Clerk or Auditing Clerk.
