All physics majors study the foundations of the field: classical mechanics, classical electrodynamics, quantum mechanics, relativity, and statistical physics. They also learn a great deal of mathematics (more than is required for a minor), and a year of chemistry. Depending on individual career goals, physics majors may also take additional courses in chemistry and biology, courses in electrical or mechanical engineering, or additional courses in physics and mathematics.
