The only program of its kind in the region, Bioscience Technology is a two-year diploma program that produces well-rounded technicians who can be employed in a variety of academic, research, industrial or production laboratory facilities. During the first year of the program, we focus on developing a sound scientific background and familiarity with a wide range of laboratory skills, as well as improving literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking abilities. The second year of the program relies heavily on project-based learning as a means of preparing graduates for employment. Students work in small groups on team projects as a way of mimicking the work environment. Students also complete an independent research project during their second year, as well as six-weeks of on the job training (OJT).

Graduates from this program may find employment with: biological laboratory technologist microbiology quality control technologist microbiology technologist food bacteriological technician plant breeding technician agricultural technologist aquaculture technician.
