BSc (Hons) Agriculture, Conservation and Sustainable Management

Course Description

This one-year programme enables students to 'top-up' to a full bachelor’s degree. If you are looking to pursue a career related to land management, conservation and agriculture, this programme will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills, with a focus on the sustainable management and exploitation of resources to meet the needs of a growing global population. Emphasis, where appropriate, will be placed on the understanding, regional, national and the international dimensions of land use. There will be particular emphasis on the global nature of, and internationalisation of food production and conservation. Hartpury has an established reputation in the field of agricultural education, offering highly experienced staff who have extensive subject/industry/research expertise and excellent facilities such as: Home Farm which has a 250 cow dairy unit, a pig unit and a small sheep flock; Hartpury Estate, which covers 200ha and comprises woodlands, pastureland, a trout lake and hedgerows; Centre for Rural Business, which offers employment related learning and short courses in the agricultural industry. Hartpury also has excellent working relationships with the full range of land based organisations in the UK, EU and beyond. These working relationships offer numerous opportunities to: Compliment formal studies through case studies, visiting lectures and field trips Provide student research projects
