Course Description

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) prepares graduates to contribute to individual and societal health through direct care, education and administration. BScN graduates are eligible to write the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination and apply to become a Registered Nurse (RN). Learn the Skills You Need MacEwan University's BScN is a rigorous, four-year, 132 credit, degree program. Knowledge, concepts and theories are integrated from the discipline of nursing, the liberal arts and sciences. The curriculum is uniquely sequenced to promote integration and application of knowledge and diverse skills, such as writing, assessment, and critical thinking. Knowledge, skills and attributes are integrated within classroom, laboratory and practice settings. The BScN program has two intakes per year: Fall Term (September) Winter Term (January) Competitive Admission Admission to the BScN program is competitive and the minimum admission standard (65% average) is NOT sufficient for a successful application. The academic profile required for a successful application varies between intake dates and years. Limited space is available and not all applicants who are eligible may be admitted. As a competitive program, academic performance is the primary criterion for admission. The date of application is the secondary criteria for those who meet the competitive requirements. The MacEwan BScN program is recognized by several Canadian Universities to prepare graduates with the required knowledge and academic skills for further education.
