Course Details

BA (Hons) Community Arts & Engagement

Course Description

Community Arts & Engagement at Goldsmiths enables critical engagement with contemporary ideas and practices of community, and how we intervene in them – as professionals, as policy makers, as citizens and as researchers. The BA Community Arts & Engagement is intended for students who are looking to develop their experience, skills and confidence, or who prefer the creativity of less formal community settings and practices. We offer courses for a professional qualification in youth and community work for those students with at least one year's full-time experience in a relevant professional setting. For newcomers to community studies the programme equips you with the combination of practical skills, theoretical knowledge and reflective engagement needed for a career in community practice. For more experienced community practitioners, it enables you to spend time deepening and broadening your skills through reflective study, research-mindedness and peer-to-peer learning. It combines performance skills in music and drama, and/or approaches to community engagement, with practical learning.
