Course Description

In today's global environment, employers expect graduates to have an international perspective, to understand how business operates with customers and suppliers around the world, and how they are affected by events in other countries. Our flagship programme, the BA (Hons) International Business and Tourism Management will prepare you to compete for a wide range of job opportunities in UK and internationally. While gaining a broad understanding of business and the society in which it operates, you'll also develop essential leadership, management and communication skills and the global perspective you need to excel in business and tourism management. By choosing a joint honours in International Business and Tourism Management, you'll gain a solid foundation in business and management and develop a distinct area of specialism with 50% of your modules related to the tourism sector - topics such as niche markets in tourism, destination development, tourism regulations and operations, urban regeneration, human resources and finance within the tourism and hospitality sectors. If you wish to specialise in Tourism Management, you will need to choose BA (Hons) International Business and Tourism Management on application to GCU via UCAS. Your specialist modules will begin in year 1, however at the end of your first year, you'll have the opportunity to change your area of specialism to Hospitality Management, Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Economics or Law or you can choose to study BA (Hons) International Business as a standalone subject.
