The BA (Hons) Film Production and Script Writing Degree is designed to give students the best chance of getting into the film industry. Students take a broad set of modules HE level 1 including a technical grounding in camerawork, lighting, sound, design and post production. Students also study a theoretical film studies module and practical modules in film production, documentary and two script writing modules. At HE level 2 students take two double size modules in film production as well as complex script writing, sitcom script writing, investigative documentary and the theory module, media & society. The HE level 3 which is from Christmas in the second year involves a major project or dissertation as well as 4 advanced modules. This degree is accredited by the University of Surrey and provides students with the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised full honours degree qualification studied over two years. Most Universities have around 28 contact weeks per year, on this course you would have more weeks each year, starting early in September and finishing at the beginning of July.
