BA (Hons) Journalism (Fast Track)

Course Description

The BA (Hons) Journalism Degree at FCOT is designed to maximise employability. The course is built around the requirements of the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). NCTJ is the industry standard qualification and is required by the newspaper industry. This degree will be accredited by the University of Surrey and provides students with the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised full honours degree qualification studied over two years. The College is also very strong in the delivery of Radio, Television and Photography. This Journalism course offers students the advantage of modules in Television, Documentary, Photography, Radio and Social Media. Students will also have the chance to use the College’s excellent broadcast quality TV Studio as well as to broadcast on the College FM Radio station. So how does it work over two years? Most Universities have around 28 contact weeks per year; on this course you would have more weeks each year, starting early in September and finishing at the beginning of July. On top of this you will have more contact hours each week. This allows you to get through the same number of hours as a three your course but in two years, allowing you to make huge savings.
