Course Description

The Art Education degree program is designed to give the student a broad experience in multiple disciplines of art-making. This ranges from painting and drawing to sculpture and ceramics. The Art faculty provides foundational study in Art History through three survey courses. Art Education students also take required courses in Education, including early practicum experiences in the classroom and their professional semester of student teaching. From the start, Art Education students build their portfolio of work and experiences in both Education and in studio practice, making the Art Education graduate competitive and an attractive hire for schools around the nation.
