At Eastern, our students gain first-hand experience with all these skills, both in the classroom and at the university's award-winning student newspaper, The Eastern Progress. Get Involved Right Away At Eastern, students aren't told to wait before they may begin practicing their craft. They're encouraged to get involved right away, whether that means helping host functions and speakers with the university's Society of Professional Journalists chapter or contributing stories and photographs for the student newspaper, The Eastern Progress.
