From entry in September/October 2016, the Phase I Medicine curriculum at Durham University will be delivered using a ‘Systems and Strands’ approach. This means that you will learn about the function of body systems in a case-led, integrated way. Topics that are not tied to a particular body system have been incorporated into year-long ‘vertical’ curricular strands. We have decided to adopt this approach following feedback from current and former students and academic staff. Although the order in which you will study topics has changed, the outcomes covered across the two stages of Phase I remain the same.
