Course Description

Our Community Design program is for students who care about the character and future of our communities, who are committed to sustainable approaches to the environment, and who want to make a difference in how we build cities and alter landscapes. We give you the design, problem-solving, and communication skills to make it happen. We’re focused on the need to design better living environments, preserve culturally important and environmentally sensitive landscapes, and give communities the tools to make their own choices. Our program has an interdisciplinary focus that draws on Dalhousie’s expertise in environmental science, environmental studies, urban history, policy management, architecture, and more. Through our internship program and ongoing research projects, you'll also get real-life, hands-on experience to create healthy and sustainable communities.
