Course Description

Ranked 2nd in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2013), the Cass BSc Management degree focuses on developing the research, modelling and analysis skills required to make good decisions in contemporary organisations and businesses. In other words, the rigorous scientific principles of a BSc are applied to the practice of management. It is different from our BSc in Business Studies - even though we share a number of function centred modules - as it helps students develop a holistic picture of organisations. We do this by looking at connections, trends and patterns that aid opportunity development and problem solving. The Cass course syllabus is unique in that it is the only undergraduate programme in the UK to include a substantial number of systems thinking and risk management modules at BSc level. This means that our graduates have a significant advantage over others unfamiliar with these advanced concepts. These modules take an interconnected view of management issues and use a range of tools and techniques that model the implications of change in modern business. Our BSc Management degree will equip you with the skills and competencies to begin a career as a consultant or analyst with international management consultancies, banks and other global businesses. It will also equip you with the skills to start and manage your own business or give the edge to a smaller business by providing a better informed view of the consequences and implications of change. It also provides a good grounding for post-graduate studies in a range of areas. So, if you are curious about the world, like to people watch and ask questions, keen to apply theory in practice and wonder how things could work better, the BSc Management degree is for you.
