The MSc new Advanced Practice in Health and Social Care (Long-term Care) course is aimed at nurses who are looking to develop their specialism in the management of long term conditions or in working with the elderly, with a view to growing into advanced practitioner or leadership and management roles. The Long-term Care MSc course also develops your research skills and critical thinking and provides the opportunity to conduct a research project under expert supervision, laying the foundations for independent research in the future.

As a graduate you will be able to influence nursing practice at both a direct and indirect level through the development and enhancement of services and the application of research to your nursing practice in managing long term conditions and in elderly care. The programme will prepare you for a more senior position and will support your preparation for nurse practitioner, care manager, nurse consultant or clinical leadership roles.
