A City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 in Barbering is an industry recognised qualification. This course is ideally suited if you are aged 19 years or over and wish to embark on a career in Barbering. The City College Hair department benefits from having its own, professional salon that is open to the public and staffed by students. You will gain valuable experience of working professionally, which will stand you in excellent stead when you apply for jobs. At the end of this qualification you will have gained skills, knowledge and experience in shampoo and hair conditioning, health and safety, cut hair using basic barbering techniques, cut facial hair to shape, change mens hair colour. Successful completion of the course will allow you to progress onto the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Barbering(QCF) or into industry. The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering is a job ready qualification based on National Occpational Standards for Barbering and will develop skills through working as a Barber in the workplace or work environment, enabling you to apply to Barbering positions in professional salons.
