Year One of the Level 3 Diploma is a focused programme for those with a real enthusiasm for Art and Design. The course is intended to broaden students existing understanding and knowledge of Art & Design, as well as develop technical skills and working processes. Students will carry out specialist projects in Fashion, Textiles, 3D Design, Graphic Design and Illustration. The Course is underpinned with a Visual Studies programme that will develop students’ skills in drawing and painting and recording from direct observation.

Progression Routes into Further Education Successful completion of the 90-Credit Diploma is the vocational equivalent of 1.5 A levels and can facilitate progression onto the Extended Diploma in Art & Design course (the vocational equivalent to 3 A levels). The Extended Diploma is completed over one year and enables students to study their chosen area of specialism in great depth. Students build a portfolio that can facilitate progression into Higher Education or employment within the Creative Industries.
