Course Description

In our full time three year programme you will study theory and develop the practical skills needed for working in sports, health and wellness sectors. You will study anatomy and physiology, nutrition and exercise, biomechanics, health promotion, physical activity for disease and special populations, professional practice, and exercise management for wellness, disease and injury. Choose to specialise in Physical Activity and Health Promotion, Sport and Exercise Science or Human Nutrition for a career in allied health, sports science or nutrition. Specialising in Physical Activity and Health Promotion will teach you how to maximise physical activity to promote health and wellness. If you choose to focus on Sport and Exercise Science you will be an asset in the field of sport science and exercise physiology. With the Human Nutrition specialisation you will develop the expertise to effectively communicate nutrition principles in a range of settings and have the awareness of cultural and environmental influences. Work experience is a crucial part of your degree; in both the first and second year of the programme you will complete an assessed placement.
