Course Description

The BBA in Professional Accountancy (PACC) program nurtures professional accountants and specialists in accounting-related areas. PACC program focuses on developing students’ analytical, problem-solving, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills and values, which help them deal with the increasingly complex and inter-connected business world effectively so as to become future leaders in the accounting and business community. PACC program is highly recognized by international professional and accreditation bodies such as the AACSB International, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the CPA (Australia). All PACC graduates are eligible to apply for the Qualification Programme of the HKICPA, or to take other professional examinations. Our graduates perform outstandingly in professional examinations and case analysis competitions. They are mostly preferred and recruited by international accounting firms. Some PACC graduates join companies in other sectors, such as banking, finance, consultancy, and the public sector.

In Hong Kong, 38% of the CPAs work in leadership positions, including president, CEO, CFO, financial controller, partner and director; and 87% of listed companies have an HKICPA member serving in senior management or board director positions.1 PACC graduates are well sought after by international accounting firms. They have gone on to work in a wide range of careers, including investment banking, management consultancy, financial management, management trainee programs, entrepreneurs, and in the public sector and academia.
