This is a vocational course leading to a qualification in applied science. This course allows learners to discover how science works, how scientific skills can be applied in the laboratory, in medicine and to investigations in forensic science. It includes three mandatory core subjects in which learners study biology, chemistry, and physics. Further units include investigating how science works in medicine, the human body, chemical analysis and detection, investigation of crime scenes and a short practical project to develop investigative skills in the laboratory.

You may progress to BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science or employment.
