Course Description

CSU's Bachelor of Business (Management) is a highly innovative and flexible program that is designed to develop professional capabilities for tomorrow's managers and business leaders. Students participate in workplace learning subjects that provide real-life, practical experience and the course is designed to produce graduates who are skilled and work-ready in their selected discipline or profession. CSU's Bachelor of Business (Management) also offers an Indigenous Supported Program option that combines innovative online education with intensive on campus residential school support, additional coaching / tutorial assistance and dedicated academic mentoring. As well as providing the operational skills and knowledge required to manage successful organisations, students in the Bachelor of Business (Management) also participate in workplace learning subjects that provide real-life, practical experience. An optimum blend of theory and practice is offered, with flexibility for students to develop both soft skills for working with people and also hard skills directed at areas such as strategy, planning, managing organisational change and business operations. Students can tailor their degree to suit their career aims and direction by adding a joint study in accounting, marketing, finance, law or a range, including operations and project management. The Bachelor of Business (Management) provides specialised knowledge, capabilities and competencies in management and related business areas. The course includes practical industry placements, one in each of the three years of study starting with 35 hours in the first year, 70 hours in the second and 120 hours in the final year of study. Additionally, students may undertake a joint study in a second prescribed discipline area, or develop knowledge in non-business subjects of their choice. The course is designed to produce graduates who are skilled and work-ready in their selected discipline or profession.

As a graduate you will be eligible for a variety of careers in the public and private sectors, and may be eligible for membership of professional organisations. You may seek a job in: commerce and industry with large private companies joining a graduate training scheme small to medium sized companies filling a management or management trainee position growth service industries such as the distribution industry, leisure industry and financial services businesses as a retail store manager, or department manager careers in government, semi-government and non-profit organisations include positions as section or department managers.
