Advanced Diploma in Aviation Technology - Aircraft Maintenance and Avionics

Course Description

Specialize in avionics in this advanced three-year program. The aviation industry is growing and skilled professionals are in high demand. Learn all of the complexities of aircraft maintenance with an advanced specialization in avionics in this multidisciplinary program. Receive theoretical and practical training on fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Learn to troubleshoot vital aircraft components and systems including the engine, hydraulics and landing gear. Intensive avionics training in the third year includes: learning to install and configure aeronautical sub-systems and components contained within aircraft structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, communication, navigation, surveillance and flight guidance systems. Note: This program has been designed to enable students to enhance their education and build upon their aircraft maintenance skills with an additional specification in Avionics. The first two years of the program are common with the Aircraft Technician – Aircraft Maintenance program. Transfer opportunities exist for graduates of a Transport Canada approved diploma program with a minimum of a 70 per cent grade average.
