Bachelor of Applied Business in Music Industry

Course Description

Are you interested in a business career within the music industry? This unique degree gives you the opportunity to specialise for industry employment or prepares you for further study. Your studies will be conducted in our innovative student run record label, Boxer Records and our music industry business office (MiBO) where you will learn in real life industry scenarios alongside industry specialists. You will gain experience in running a record company, work with artists, stage events as well as participate in other practical projects. You will gain business skills and knowledge that can be applied in other industries, have access to leading industry music business software, and opportunities to manage student music projects (under staff supervision). You can take electives from the Bachelor of Applied Music including composition, audio production and performance. You can also choose to exit with the Associate Degree after two years full time. In the third year of the degree students are required to complete and industry internship and practical placement. You will be issued with an iPad in your first year of study instead of printed materials and/or handouts. You will use your iPad for note taking, recording data, completing class work and assignments, building a contact database, research and accessing online materials from our student web.
